This is me trying to get back to writing.
I started blogging in Multiply when I was a first year high school student. It was embarrassing, especially my first blog post ever because it was multicolored with varied font size and there were words in bold, italic and underlined here and there. Thank God Multiply shut down, other people won’t have the chance to stalk my childish, now nonsense posts I wrote about school, friends and boys. I saved everything in a word file, though. Maybe I would want to read through it some time in the future (but why would I?).
My second blog, and the one I committed to the longest, was made during my third year in high school. It’s still up on the internet until now and it holds a lot of cherished and sometimes haunting memories. The second half of high school, especially my junior year, was well documented because of that blog. I wrote almost every day, and sometimes publish more than one post a day. But the phase of my life I’ve been writing about in that blog ended (or so I thought it did) and I needed a fresh start so I left it in the middle of my first year in college. Now, whenever I reminisce or need to remember something, I just refer to that blog. I keep thanking my past self for writing too much because it immortalized that part of my life, and that is just beautiful.
After leaving my Livejournal blog, I found it hard to write again. I have a third blog where in I dump my musings about the same thing I write about in Livejournal and other things but I don’t write as much as I want to. For the longest time I’ve been wanting to be my old self again, writing, that’s why now, with how great my life is turning out to be at the moment, I figured I should try maintaining a blog again, committing to writing regularly again.
This blog will house a particular life event of my life: my junior year in college (and hopefully it won’t stop here!) What’s special about it? It’s the fact that I’ll be studying in Universite Catholique de Lille for one semester and traveling around Europe along the way! This has been my dream since the day of our course orientation, where I learned that my university offers an exchange program. I set my goals and thank God, I achieved it.
This August I’ll be flying to France to study. This is obviously a big milestone in my life, I knew to myself that I had to write about this as much as I can and that I need a separate blog especially for it.
So that is what this is all about.
This is still a personal blog, which I will later on open to public once I’m in France already and writing about my experience. I figured it will be an experience worth sharing. I am writing for myself, and the future readers are just… readers. I am not writing for them.
I can’t wait. x
